Welcome

Hi, my name is Josette McGregor. I am a former teacher, administrator, researcher, and mother of two now grown kids. I have always loved working with children and have been in education in one way or another for over 30 years as a teacher, Ph.D researcher and literacy tutor. I recently left Community Services at Foothills Academy School to strike out on my own. I would love to help your child learn new tools to improve their literacy skills.

The past 7 years I have worked part time tutoring children with learning needs in reading and writing. Previously I volunteered for 5 years for Calgary Reads, an early literacy organization, tutoring children in reading, and ELL (English Language Learning).

I have specialized training in: Lindamood-Bell Instruction for Reading and Comprehension (LiPS); Seeing Stars: Program Symbol Imagery for Phonological and Orthographic Processing in Reading and Spelling (SI), Visualizing & Verbalizing: Language Comprehension and Thinking (V/V); Voyageur Sopris: Step Up to Writing program; and Precision Reading.
